Recap of Wildfire on Ponder Ranch

There were several dry-lightning wildfires in the Tri-County on the night of Tuesday-Wednesday May 31-June 1. One was on the Ponder Ranch, north of Marfa TX, which last month had been burned by the Rock House Fire (April 9). It began with a lightning strike around 6 PM and was brought under control by 2 AM.

KRTS spoke with Mary Ann Luedecke, about the overnight efforts to contain the blaze, which consumed about 1,000 acres. Click above for audio report.
