As bad as the weather was in West Texas over the weekend, the football may have been worse. Almost all of the teams we regularly report on have now been eliminated from the high school football playoffs.
The Crane Cranes lost to the Abernathy Antelopes in a defensive masterpiece, the Cranes didn't manage to score and the Antelopes only scored once leaving the Antelopes with a 7-0 win and an open path further into the playoffs. The Midland Lee Rebels went down 51-7 against the Carroll Dragons. Finally, the Monahans Loboes lost in their game against the Shallowater Mustangs 43-35.
On the bright side, the Grandfalls Royalty Cowboys managed to hold their own in their 57-8 victory against the Blackwell Hornets.
