Thursday April 4: Today Marfa Public Radio launches a new radio serviceexclusively for Alpine.

Marfa Public Radio can now be heard in Alpine on a new frequency, 91.7 FM.

The addition of 91.7 FM provides Alpine listeners with a choice, if they have difficulty receiving a static-free signal at 93.5 FM.

The new service at 91.7 FM is transmitting from a hilltop southeast of Alpine. It is identified by the call letters KRTP, and is a simulcast of the programming on KRTS at 93.5 FM.

Marfa Public Radio appreciates the assistance of its donating members and of the Permian Basin Area Foundation, who helped fund this new radio service in Alpine.

Station Manager Tom Michael made the announcement on Tuesday, at a meeting of the Lions Club of Alpine.
Thanks to our web design team, Vast Graphics, which donated this dancing radio artwork.
