It was a close Election Night race for U.S. Congress for House District 23, with challenger Pete Gallego (Dem) the presumptive winner against incumbent Francisco Canseco (Rep).

This morning, the Congressman's campaign staff has questioned the results. Campaign Manager Scott Yeldell said, "There are voting abnormalities in multiple counties that are being investigated."

Congressman Canseco released the following statement: "The race is not over, and it won't be until all votes are properly and legally counted."

Gallego is a native of Alpine TX and Canseco lives in San Antonio.

FRIDAY UPDATE: Congressman Canseco called to congratulate Representative-Elect Pete Gallego. Although Canseco believes there were ballot irregularities, he will not pursue a recount.
