The Marfa Shorthorns pulled a triumphant homecoming victory on Friday night, shutting out El Paso Immanuel Christian School 46-0, bringing the Horns' record to 3-4. Balmorhea's trek to Sierra Blanca proved fruitful as the Bears defeated the Vaqueros 78-44.
Fort Davis faced a rough Friday night against Ira in Garden City, as the Indians fell 52-0 against the undefeated Bulldogs. The Alpine Fightin' Bucks gained a narrow 26-25 victory over Sonora on Friday, their first district game of the season, bringing their record to 5-1 overall.
The Sul Ross Lobos managed to balance out their record at 3-3 on Saturday, defeating Texas Lutheran University in Seguin 70-65. The Lobos took an early lead in the game, putting up 42 points in the first half, but were endangered in the fourth quarter by a 35-point rally from the Bulldogs. Dominique Carson's 63-yd touchdown run late in the fourth gave the Lobos a 70-58 lead. The Bulldogs responded with a touchdown pass to Collin Bode with 12 seconds left in the game, but couldn't manage another.
