Sunday April 29, 8 AM: KRTS News reported on the latest information from fire officials on the Livermore Ranch Fire. The evacuation orders for the DMR (Davis Mountains Resort) were broadcast through the night, and those orders are still active.

Early Sunday morning, KRTS News was briefed by spokesperson Jim Fowler, who announced that the wildfire was at the head of Limpia Canyon, and that today winds were to be out of the west, and that hot & dry conditions were expected.

Local fire crews were expecting reinforcement from the Texas Forest Service, including 10 engines and hot shot crews. There is to be a briefing at 8:30 AM this morning. The air attack is to begin at 9 AM. And there should be an additional live report from KRTS News at 10 AM.

This fire started to the west of Mount Livermore on Tuesday due to a cloud-to-ground lightning. Fire officials urge area residents not to go sightseeing along Highway 166. They do not want gapers getting in the way of the many fire vehicles expected along the road today.

KRTS is in contact with the owners of the last structure on Limpia Creek in the northwestern-most corner of the Davis Mountains Resort. They estimate the fire is withing 1.5 miles of their house. They first noticed flames cresting the furthest visible ridge up Limpia Canyon around 3AM.

UPDATE, SUNDAY, 10 AM:  Spring Mountain Fire 8,187 acres and 60% contained, with few interior smokes. Livermore Ranch Fire, 8,231 acres and 50% contained. Interior burning, not much overnight growth.
