Steve Anderson reports on Warren Jeffs trial

fb-steve-anderson-at-krts

KRTS reporter Steve Anderson has been reporting on the trials of members of the Fundamentalist Church of the Latter Day Saints (FLDS), ever since their "Yearning For Zion Ranch" compound in nearby Eldorado, Texas, was raided by state officials in 2008.

Anderson covered the subsequent trials from the beginning and is the only non-local journalist who has attended all five of the previous trials of FLDS men.

Anderson is now covering the trial of Warren Jeffs, the head “prophet” of the Fundamentalist Church of the Latter Day Saints, in San Angelo. Jeffs is being tried for two counts of sexual assault of a child that allegedly occurred during his sojourn at the FLDS compound in Eldorado (when he was on the FBI’s ten-most-wanted list).

Recently, Anderson has been reporting to KRTS every Wednesday morning at 9:30 AM. And this Monday night at 10 PM, one of his reports was broadcast nationwide on the NPR hourly newscast. You can listen to that audio report, by clicking the "Listen Now" icon above.
