KRTS Radio just spoke with Jim Fowler of the Fort Davis Volunteer Fire Department who provided the following update:

At this time, there are an estimated 12,000 acres burned on the Tejano Canyon Fire. It is 50 percent contained. There are 150 fire fighters on the ground with a total of 220 personnel on the incident.

Highway 118 will be closed today until 2 PM due to the high volume of fire vehicle traffic. This closure is just north of McDonald Observatory up to the split with 166.
