KRTS just spoke with Fort Davis VFD's Jim Fowler. At this time, there is not a new acreage estimate on the Tejano Canyon Fire, but Fowler was happy to report that last night's (Friday) burn out operations were successful. Crews preformed controlled burns on the eastern and northern flanks of the fire. The south flank is solid and Davis Mountains Resort is protected. Today crews will be cleaning up northern flank and mopping up eastern flank. The McDonald Observatory is well protected.
