KRTS spoke with D.L. Wilkerson of the Texas Forestry Service on the following active wildfires, all caused by lightning strikes.
Rocco Fire: In Brewster County, 67 miles southwest of Fort Stockton. 700 acres burned, 40% contained.
Buffalo Pasture Fire: In Jeff Davis County, 22 miles northwest of Fort Davis. 1,640 acres burned, 95% contained.
Friend Mountain Fire: In Jeff Davis County, 20 miles northwest of Fort Davis. 1,800 acres burned, 95% contained.
