KRTS Update: Monday April 25

Rock House Fire boundaries, April 22

KRTS spoke to officials with the Southern Area Incident Management Team of the U.S. Forest Service. Monday's focus is still on the northwest flank of the Rock House Fire.

The emphasis is on structure protection, as needed, and aerial water drops, as wind conditions allow. Officials continue to monitor the safety of structures on the Boy Scout Camp.

Firefighting crews will monitor control lines along the northern edge of activities. The fire has moved over Madera Canyon and Forbidden Mountain and is backing into Timber Mountain.

The last controlled burn was Saturday night. No prescribed burns were made Sunday, and none are planned for the next several days, due to gusty winds forecasted. Hannah Farley of the Forest Service states they are working closely with local officials "together to put out the fire as quickly and safely as possible." Winds are projected from the west/southwest.
