KRTS Fire Reports

Wildfire outside Marfa

Evacuations have been called for these areas south of Fort Davis: Mano Prieto, Fort Davis Estates, High Frontier, and Dolores Mountain. Please evacuate to the north on Hwy 17 or north on Hwy 118.

Hwy 17 and Hwy 118 is closed south of Fort Davis.

It appears the fire may have damaged transmission of KRTS at 93.5 FM at 4:50 PM. If you have web access - we'll continue to stream online and post updates on the website.

Evacuations are now called for portions of the city of Fort Davis. Evacuate to the north.

5:20 PM: Separately, Sunny Glen residents outside Alpine (Brewster County) are asked to evacuate.

5:25 PM: No structure within Fort Davis damaged.

We asked Fort Davis Fire Officials about the DMR (Davis Mountains Resort) and they are recommending exiting the area. This is not a mandated evacuation. And our assumptions is that residents would exit Hwy 166 to the west/north.
