Tune in to KRTS every day this week for special holiday programming. Here’s what we’ve got on the schedule for today:
11 AM to 1 PM, The Retro Cocktail Hour Christmas Special - You'll cha cha all the way with an all new Christmas special from The Retro Cocktail Hour. It's two hours of swinging bachelor pad tunes, crooner classics, over-stimulated stereophonic pop and tiki tunes for the season. This year we've got songs by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Louis Armstrong, and more.
3 PM, The Blind Boys of Alabama Christmas Show – Clarence Fountain and his legendary gospel group have won four Grammy Awards in as many years. In this program, they present their own take on Christmas classics, along with some gospel favorites.
8 PM to 10 PM, Christmas Anthem - A 2-hour cheerful, cheeky blend of eclectic music matched to the many moods of Christmas. Enjoy new seasonal sounds with host Gini Mascorro. From KERA/North Texas Public Broadcasting, Inc., serving Dallas and Fort Worth.
10 PM, Juke in the Back’s R&B Christmas – This show is loaded with the greatest R&B Christmas records from the late 1940s and 1950s. It's the yuletide soul that came before rock n' roll. From the all-time classics by Clyde McPhatter & The Drifters and The Orioles to some rarer Christmas plattahs from Amos Milburn, JB Summers and The Five Keys.
