The Longest Serving College President...

rausch
Signs (1970), by Robert Rauschenberg, (the Museum of the Big Bend)

Lonn remembers Sam Monroe, the president of Lamar State College, in Port Arthur Texas, who served for 40 years.  But this small college is also home to the Museum of the Gulf Coast.  Aside from displaying the area’s prehistory, the museum exhibits artifacts of the famous people from the region.  Come to the Museum of the Gulf Coast to see J.P Richarson’s dice and hairbrush, or even works by Rauschenberg.
