Tuesday morning at midnight, the federal government shut down. Lawmakers in Washington couldn’t agree on how to fund various aspects of the Federal budget, most notably the American Healthcare act, more commonly known as Obamacare. Previous stop-gap funding fell through, and all government functions labeled “non-excepted” were ordered to cease operations. These “non-excepted” operations include the National Parks System, including Big Bend National Park. KRTS intern Zane Brzezinski reports.
