KRTS Monday 6:30 PM: Power Outtage

img_0848-2

AEP officials contacted Marfa Public Radio (KRTS, 93.5 FM) to say that due to work related to wildfire defense, electrical power MAY be shut down in areas of Far West Texas for 1-3 hours this evening.

IF this shutdown were to occur, the areas most affected would be Marfa, Valentine, Alpine, and Marathon. The city of Presidio would likely not be affected. Areas currently served by the generator powering lines in and around Fort Davis. This would be a temporary shutdown.

KRTS spoke to AEP officials at 6:20 PM on Monday night. We spoke to Manager of Community Affairs, Fred Hernandez.
