UPDATE 10:45 PM - Agreement reached. No federal government shutdown.
FRIDAY APRIL 8, 6 PM CT -- If the Federal Government were to shutdown – due to the budget impasse – it would affect operations in Far West Texas.
One example is Big Bend National Park. Visitors with current reservations would be allowed to stay only until Sunday. New visitors would not be allowed into the park. Most employees would not be present.
Essential employees would show up for work in order to safeguard the park and its resources. These include emergency service personnel, law enforcement, and fire fighters.
