Season's Greetings from KRTS

KRTS IS HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

The year 2008 - the first full year on the airwaves for KRTS - has been an exciting one, and you've heard our programming expand and improve.

On our Talk At Ten program, you've listened to interviews with local newsmakers and visiting artists and writers, as well as in-studio musical performances.

Our news department has kept you informed about breaking news events, such as the Hughes Ranch Fire, which blazed across the Davis Mountains in June, as well as the historic flooding along the Rio Grande in September.

During election season, KRTS brought you interviews with candidates in contested races across our region. And on election night, our news team provided live coverage into the early morning hours, bringing you national, state, and local results.

Throughout the year, KRTS brought you the news from National Public Radio, helping you to stay connected to the nation and the world during times of uncertainty and historic change.

This fall, responding to our members, we introduced new programs from NPR: the live, call-in show Talk Of The Nation, Fresh Air Weekend, and On The Media.

Our volunteer DJs have brought you music programming as diverse and interesting as the residents of the area - from folk, blues, and world music to Latin pop, classical, and jazz.

Marfa Public Radio is community-owned and community-operated. The support you've shown for KRTS over the past year has been inspirational and is essential to keeping this resource on the airwaves.

Please consider a year-end, tax-deductible investment to your public radio station.

We hope you enjoy KRTS holiday programming, including Hannukah, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day shows, traditional holiday stories, new music specials, and a New Years Eve extravaganza.

From everyone here at KRTS, we wish you happy holidays and a fantastic new year!
